Whether it’s the carnival rides, the food, the entertainment or just a chance to get out in the open air, the 110th annual Western Idaho State Fair has something for everyone. The Fair will be held August 17th through the 26th at the fairgrounds located at the corner of Chinden and Glenwood Boulevards in Boise. This year’s theme - “Fun In The Sun“ - rings true for every member of the family.
Some of the events include:
- Animal exhibits— Some of the 4-H and FFA events include exhibits of every kind of animal from cattle, sheep, goats to horses, mules, and trained herd dogs.
- Concerts—Clay Walker, the Charlie Daniels Band, REO Speedwagon and Josh Turner
- Amusement carnival rides— Butler Enterprises has lots of rides to thrill and chill all ages
- Entertainment—Peking Acrobats, Illusionist, stand-up comedian Scott Novotny, a high dive act, and the Treasure Valley’s own Trevor Hattabaugh, an eleven year old comedian.
Or take part in the contests scheduled August 17th through the 24th. Bad hair day? Enter the “Crazy Hair” contest August 17th. Maybe you look like Brad Pitt? The Movie Star Look-A-Like contest on August 25th might be right up your alley.
KTVB Channel 7 Family Day, Monday August 20th, is one of the most popular days at the fair because it is an alcohol-free, non-smoking day and the $15. ticket includes admission and a wristband for unlimited rides from noon to 6:00pm.
Advance tickets are available online at the Idaho Fair website or the Idaho Statesman website or at the Expo Idaho offices.
