Christmas tree ornamentChristmas must be coming as the Festival of Trees, hosted by the Saint Alphonsus Foundation and sponsored by area businesses and volunteers, is just around the corner. This annual event - since 1984 - has grown from a mere 14 trees to become a family seasonal tradition for those living in the Boise area as well as the entire Treasure Valley. The goal has always been the same - to benefit healthcare in our region. The event will be held November 21 through 25th this year.

Although the beautifully decorated trees are the main attraction for the festival, many other activities are held throughout the event including the opening Gala which includes a formal dinner and auction.

Senior Day, held November 21st, provides a day to honor senior citizens. Seniors are admitted into the festival at a discounted admission price of $2.00. A Holiday tea begins at 1:00pm with an afternoon of entertainment provided on their special day.

Family Days — November 24th & 25th - are a great time to spend time as a family viewing the trees and the children can enjoy games, crafts, and prizes and special entertainment geared towards children. Popular costumed characters appears throughout the day. Every day of the festival children can enjoy breakfast with Santa on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th beginning at 8:00am or have pictures taken with Santa any day of the festival from 10:00am to 8:30pm.

Last, but not least, is the “Cowgirl Christmas” Luncheon and Fashion Show on November 26th at noon. Reservations are required for this event featuring the latest fashions for the entire family. The clothes are provided by local stores and boutiques.

Be sure to attend to support our community and get a great start on the holiday season!
